Registration is open for our Second Quarter Summit coming up on April 28. We will be at Westside Church (8610 W 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46234) again.
Our first failure story-teller is Grace Conyers, Co-Founder of Insanitek, a business incubator for
independent researchers and inventors. Her mission is to show the world what happens when you boldly live the “what if”. Grace is going to share a story from her military experience. As you know, on the battlefield, failure can mean death for you and your team. And so, for good reason, it is in the interest of the individual, the team, and the organization to train rigorously and be crystal clear in distinguishing between success and failure so that improvement is possible. This is the context for Grace’s story that explores a facet of failure that we have yet to examine – when one must wear The Scarlet Letter of failure.
Our second failure story-teller is Jack Frisby, the owner of Optimize Selling Solutions and author of “Stop Selling… Start Serving”. Jack is living proof that being a Jack of all trades doesn’t mean you are a master of none. Although Jack is most well-known for his mastery of sales and sales training, he has also mastered the use of LinkedIn for lead generation. But did you know that Jack is also a Character First Trainer with the Character Council of Indiana? Jack’s story will focus on the role of one’s character in navigating through failure. Jack will also be facilitating our small group discussion.
This is going to be another high-impact event. Don’t miss it.
I think you will enjoy the last few minutes of this week’s podcast “Make Me Smart” with Kai and Molly (Episode 9). Check out what Shelly, a listener who called in, says about NASA’s approach to failing forward: “NASA prepares for failure bravely and relentlessly.” This brief segment begins at 25:30 in the episode. Very insightful.
